I don't know if this was originally discovered by Gigelz or Ground from Germany, but the method seems to work quite well. It seems most of these X58 CPUs that seem dead are actually able to work, but they need a post on the Foxconn Bloodrage. After posting the CPU successfully with that board, they run just fine again on other boards. For me this has worked with many CPUs now, like Q3FE, Q3QP, and a few retail 980X and lower end models.
I don't know if this works on other Foxconn X58 boards as well, but I would assume it will probably might. If you are an X58 enthusiast, it is probably wise to have one of these boards at your disposal.
