🍴I get asked a lot for food recs and here are 3 extremely authentical, local and completely “madrileño” bars I would absolutely recommend!
1️⃣Casa Labra
I’ve had A LOT of cod living in Spain/ traveling to Portugal and the way Casa Labra does it is hands down one of the best. My mom - a notoriously harsh critic and fish lover - tried it and it was one of her favorite things in Madrid.
2️⃣El Anciano Rey de los Vinos
“Regalito de toro” literally means “little present of bull.” This tapa was created when the bar turned 100 years old back in 2009 - as a modern twist on the classic and traditional Spanish bull tail’s stew - and it’s been on the menu ever since. It may not be written on the menu but you can ask for the “media ración” (half order).
3️⃣Casa Toni
Come hungry but know it may take a bit of time, since they cook fresh to order and it’s always poppin’ there. The fried eggplant with honey is an Andalusian (South of Spain) dish and it is mindblowing.
