"I wrote the words and melody on a late night train from New York City: short story of a troubled relationship, filtered through the young people around me. That feeling towards the end where you’re touching every experience for the last time. Recorded in early 2021, I tried to redo the vocal when we were working on the album “for real” but the rough really tied in to the live guitars (me on acoustic, Eric on the celestial electric) and held all the regret and sadness, so it had to stay."
