Together, Elaine and Wink recount the history of the traditional grape varieties of the Jura and Savoie regions of France, examining how they grow in their home regions in France and how they are developing today here in their adopted home of California.
A founder of the Association of Wine Educators, among many other wine education activities, Wink taught at Diploma level for the WSET for many years on subjects from the Loire, through non-traditional method sparkling wines and wines of the Americas. Wink is a long-term member of the Circle of Wine Writers and has contributed to books by Jancis Robinson MW, Tom Stevenson and Oz Clarke, and written for numerous magazines. Living between London and the French Alps, over the past 15 years, she has become the English-language specialist of the wines of Jura and Savoie. She has self-published two books: Jura Wine (2014) and Wines of the French Alps: Savoie, Bugey and beyond (2019).
