Do UV phone sanitizers actually work? I know that ultraviolet light can kill bacteria and viruses but can artificial UV lights do the same? That's the question I look to answer in this video. I bought a bacteria culture kit just so I could see just how bacteria and virus infested my smartphones touchscreen really is. I then put my phone through a 1 minute (30 seconds on each side) UV cleaning cycle in the HoMedics UV-Clean Phone Sanitizer and swabbed it again to see if the UV sanitizer actually did anything? In this video I also compare the UV sanitizers effectiveness to simply cleaning your phone screen using 70% isopropyl alcohol on a cotton ball. So if you're as curious as I was about how well a battery powered UV phone sanitizer actually works then I think you'll find the results of my tests quite interesting.
