#3 Annie’s Canyon Trail via North Rios
Is near Solana Beach, California, within the San Elijio Lagoon Ecological Reserve. It is a 1.5 mile loop trail. Most of the trail is flat and is described as an easy level trail, although there are some stairs at the end of the canyon. It is a short trail and can be enjoyed with family and friends.

#2 Saigon / Ho Chi Minh Trail
Saigon trail, also known as Ho Chi Minh Trail is located 30 minutes south of Annie’s Canyon, in the city of La Jolla, California. It is an out and back trail and less than a mile long. It is one of the shortest hikes in the county of San Diego. But don’t let the distance fool you. This trail is rated difficult due to the slippery edges and rock scrambling, as well as a rope usage if you decide to head down to the beach. Warning, the beach at the end of the trail is a nudist beach (Black’s Beach).

#1 Torrey Pines State Reserve
Torrey Pines State Reserve is located 20 minutes from either of the trails above, Annie’s Canyon and Saigon trail. Torrey Pines has several trails within the reserve. Each trail is well marked and return to the main road. The difficulty level can range from easy to difficult, depending on how many and which trails you decide to hike. The trails at Torrey Pines State Reserve are one of the best places to visit in San Diego by yourself or with family, since you can have a nice day at the beach after the hike.
