INS Vikrant, India's first home-built aircraft carrier, will be formally commissioned today after completing almost a year of sea trials. The 45,000-tonne warship has been built at a cost of ₹ 20,000 crore.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Kerala on Thursday on a two-day visit during which he will lay the foundation stone of Kochi Metro's second phase and also commission Indian Navy's first indigenously-designed and built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. PM Modi on Friday will commission the INS Vikrant.
