Sanibel Causeway a great fishing spot for all kinds of fish. A lot of visitors and locals enjoy the days here on jet skis, wind surfing, BBQing and just out enjoying the day. Locals fish all over the causeway but closer to the bridge. There are three main bridges, one closest to Sanibel Island, one in the middle, and the highest bridge leaving the Fort Myers area. It is also where you pay a $6.00 toll as well. If you enjoy catching shark, Bonnethead are all over here as well as Black Tip. I usually catch Bonnethead off of live Shrimp, the larger ones and Sardines at times. Black Tip do not usually bite on Shrimp or at least I have not caught one using shrimp. It is Pin Heads, Mullet, or Sardines. Occasionally if I catch a whiting, I will use that as bait. If you want to enjoy the day being outdoors and fishing it is a great place to go.
