This is a comparison review between the Lifeproof Fre Case and the Otterbox Defender Case for the iPad mini. Both cases are rugged and provide great protection for your iPad mini. The Lifeproof Case is fully water and dust proof, but much thinner and less bulkier then the Otterbox Case. The Otterbox case on the other hand seems to be more resilient to the damage from drops and others testing that we have put it through for over 8 months of usage. The Otterbox is dust and water resistant only, and it also contains an additional enhancement which is the front cover plate. This plate acts as a extra protection for the front screen and also as a stand for the iPad mini.

We recommend both cases, they are very well designed, and they have little impact on the native functionality of the iPad mini. It will depend on you to choose which you prefer.
