Victoria was built in 1931 with a Kromhout M1 Hot Bulb engine. This was removed while still in the ownership of British Waterways Board, who sold it engine less. A cold start 2 pot Bolinder was put in her next while working in Birmingham and down the grand union (when the boat was called Linda), but when when sold into private ownership a secondhand Lister JP2 was installed from a Blackwater fishing boat. The JP was new in 1953, and installed in Victoria in 1970. It is still going strong, though has had a few rebuilds (mainly top end) in that time.
I'm uploading this video again as this is the video that started my youtube 'career' so many years ago. So many in fact that youtube only did low-res videos, so now it's uploaded in HD for closer inspection of the muck on this hard worked but much loved engine.
You'll notice there is a thin layer of ice on the canal, and one of the views was from a cold start - the rest of the shots, as I started it over and over again got easier! :)
