Russia’s war against Ukraine broke decades of peace and stability on the European continent. As European countries and the United States provide a range of assistance to Ukraine, Russia’s attack on international norms poses a growing global threat, particularly for European countries in the Balkans fighting to sustain their democratic institutions and advances.
On March 29, USIP hosted a conversation with Montenegrin President Milo Đukanović on security and stability in the Balkans, the growing threat of Russian influence across the European continent, and the importance of NATO and the future of European security architecture.
