Jowar puttu/ Sorghum puttu is a healthy and quick to make steamed breakfast prepared just like traditional kerala puttu. This puttu tastes excellent with kerala kadala curry or with just sugar. Adding jowar/ sorghum to our diet benefits our health a lot as it is is high in protein and fiber, minerals like phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and iron.
Ingredients :
Jowar /Sorgham - 1 cup
coconut ,grated
Carrot ,grated
salt to taste
Tempering:
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard -1/2 tsp
urad dal - 1.2 tsp
cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
green chilli-1
Ginger - 1tsp
curry leaves
Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
