In this video, I have presented the history of martial laws in Pakistan with dates and names.
Pakistan has witnessed four martial laws till today.
Below are details of each martial law period in Pakistan.
1) First martial law in Pakistan was imposed on 7th October 1958 when the first president of Pakistan Iskandar Mirza dismissed PM Feroz Khan Noon's government.
2) Second martial law in Pakistan was enforced on 25th March 1969 by General Yahya Khan.
3) Third martial law in Pakistan was imposed on 5th July 1977 by General Zia ul Haq when he dismissed the government of Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
4) Fourth martial law in Pakistan was imposed on 12th October 1999. Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef's government was overthrown as result.
