A bus collided with a truck in southern Pakistan on Tuesday, killing at least 58 people and injuring around 18 others.
The accident took place on the National Highway in Khairpur at around 6 a.m. The bus was carrying 65 passengers, travelling from Swat to Karachi, according to the BBC.
Police said there was a deep ditch on the road close to the area of the collision. The bus lost control after hitting the ditch and ended up on the opposite side of the road where a truck coming from Karachi collided with it, Khaleej Times reported.
Police also said that morning fog covering the highway at the time could have been a contributing factor to the accident, the BBC reported.
