The European Committee of #SocialRights (ECSR) of the Council of Europe finds violations in 14 countries and publishes today 15 decisions on state compliance with the right to #equalpay and #equalopportunities in the workplace. Complaints to the ECSR, which monitors the implementation of the European Social Charter, were lodged by the international NGO University Women Europe (UWE).
“The gender pay gap is unacceptable, yet it continues to be one of the main obstacles to achieving real equality in modern societies”, said the Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić on the occasion of the publication of these decisions.
