krishna's butter ball
krishna's butter ball is a gigantic granite stone resting on a short incline in the historical coastal town of mahabalipuram in tamil nadu state of india a massive stone of 20 feet height and 5 meter wide and 250 ton weight stands on a slippery slope of a hill on less than four feet base this butterball is a mystery that how is it possible since even it is unmoved by tsunami earthquakes or cyclones for over 1200 years old.
the pallava king Nursimhavarman also made a failed attempt to move the boulder in 1918 the governor of the city arthur havelock made an attempt to use seven elephants to move the boulder from its position due to safety concerns but with no success
the indian tamil king raja raja chola was inspired by the balance of this massive stone boulder and it led to the creation of never falling mud dolls called tanjavur bommbai which having a half spherical base tends to come back to its original position every time one tries to make it fall as we all know that whatever we throw up in the sky or if we put a ball or rock on a slippery slope it will naturally come down it is maybe due to gravitational force but in this rock of 250 ton sitting on 40 degree slope that's strange or mysterious
