Sunday Shave – in recognition and celebration of America’s Independence day, today’s soap comes from Shannons Soaps Ltd – CITY OF CHAMPIONS, a Tallow based soap. Scent described as “No need to tarp up your shave den or don protective goggles with this fabulous bubbly champagne scent. Hints of grape and citrus and berries round out the celebration.”

Result: For me Shannons soap produces one of the creamiest rich bowl lathers around. Lather performance is also excellent in all attributes, a great soap base. The medium strength sweet scented blend and because of the sweetness it reminds me of Fruit Tingles or a mixed berry yogurt more than a dry champagne, however, I did find it a bright cheerful bubbly scent that’s not overly sweet. For the first time I matched the Yaqi Raster with the Feather Proguard AC blade, for me this was a match made in shaving heaven, a wonderful smooth clean and efficient BBS, absolutely no irritations at all, I rate this shave a 10/10.
