World Health Organisation (WHO) says that the World's first malaria vaccine RTSS will be launched in pilot phases Kenya, Ghana and Malawi beginning next year. Clinical trials have shown the injectable vaccine provides partial protection against malaria in young children caused by Plasmodium falciparum. Sarah Kimani spoke to Dr Matshidiso Moeti, the WHO Regional Director for Africa on just what this pilot phase means ahead of World Malaria Day.
