2023 Tesla Model Y in-depth Walkaround Interior & Exterior
The Tesla Model Y is the automaker's most popular model, building on the success of the Model 3. Despite facing stiff competition in the compact luxury crossover market, Tesla has made significant updates to the Model Y for 2023 to keep it competitive. These updates, along with recent price cuts and the federal tax credit, have only added to its appeal.
The Long Range Model Y offers 330 miles of range, while the Performance model has a range of 303 miles. The Performance model also features 20-inch wheels, a lowered suspension, a higher top speed of 155 mph, quicker acceleration, and a Track mode. The entry-level model has a range of 279 miles and a different battery pack compared to the other two models.
According to EPA estimates, the Long Range Model Y has a fuel economy of 127 MPGe in the city and 117 MPGe on the highway, while the Performance model offers 115 MPGe in the city and 106 MPGe on the highway. In testing, the Long Range Model Y recorded 94 MPGe and an estimated driving range of 220 miles, while the Performance model had 98 MPGe and a range of 230 miles.
Charging equipment is not included with the Model Y and requires an additional $350 for the Wall Connector. Alternatively, Tesla also operates a network of Superchargers that can provide up to 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes.
