I finally found some time to work on a modular liveset. Since 2020 i'm into modular, but it was quite a long journey to find exactly the right amount of modules that helped me to boost my creativity but also to stay focused. For that reason, i've created an intentionally small modular eurorack system.
The opening track of my current improvised modular live set revolves around pre-recorded samples captured in the pentatonic major scale using my @SequentialLLC Take 5.
These samples form the backbone of each track, undergoing additional manipulation and processing through the dynamic capabilities of @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Morphagene and @ChaseBlissAudio Generation Loss MK2.
Beyond the sampled sounds, my setup comprises two Döpfer A-111-3 analog VCOs, each paired with a dedicated low-pass filter (Soundforce uVCF 6 and Bubblesound LP20).
To steer and mold the musical journey, I rely on @busycircuits Pamela's Pro Workout as a sequencer (crazy but true). It generates random voltages that quantize harmoniously with the scale of the pre-recorded samples. It's not only sending V/Oct to the VCOs, it is also triggering the Function Generator @Befacosynth Rampage. Real-time adjustments to Pam's modifiers and offsets during the live performance add an extra layer of creative flexibility.
Everything is blended nicely together via @SteadyStateFate Vortices and further processed through the magnificent @strymon Magneto.
