As an ode to the absurdism of the digital age we are living in, this music video highlights the peculiar phenomenon of people uploading uncut videos to YouTube without giving it a title or context. Literally thousands and thousands of people use YouTube as a free online data storage, resulting in the most random selection of videos. From people selling their cars, to families sending each other home videos. Even others let their laptop livestream for hours without anything happening or anyone watching, just to secure their houses. These videos are publicly available to anyone with access to the internet, but the majority was probably never meant to be seen by anyone.
For this music video all footage was uploaded during the year 2020 when COVID had people all around the world locked in their homes. The untitled videos were collected using a random number generator and put together in a digital collaboration between the makers, the machine and the video artist.
The result is a quick paced experimental documentary short of seemingly unrelated footage on which the audience can project their own associations, making it that the meaning derived from it may differ per spectator. It is art in its barest form, as aesthetically speaking there is no real value to it. It is like a story without text, a film without a script. It solely exists on our innate ability to create our own stories with whatever we have at hand.
