Marivere GatiEvaramma -Anandabhairavi - Misra Chapu - Sri Shyama Sastri
preceded by a sloka from Meenakshi Pancharatnam by Sri.Adi Sankara Bhagavatpada.
The complete surrender and faith to Mother Goddess on the part of Sri.Shyama Sastri is his hallmark. That reflects in all his kritis.
It is said that a stranger came to him when he was singing at the saniddhi of Bhragadamba in Pudukotai and adviced him to go to Madurai. He forgot about this after he came back to Tanjore and returned to his regular puja . Later the same person appeared in his dream and urged him to go to Madurai and sing the praises of Meenakshi Amman.
He left immediately and there at Madurai he composed the Navaratnas on the Presiding diety Meenakshi.
Maivere Gatievaramma is one of them.
Composed in his favourite Ananda Bhairavi it has a majestic gait and is full of Bhava at the same time. I belive in you all the time he says (Sada Nammitti Nammitti )..You are one known for her unending compassion he says (Aparakripanidhi ). He attained Mukthi on Feb 6 th in 1827 after clearly predicting his departure.
