Have you ever wondered what happens to your luscious locks once you have donated them to The Little Princess Trust?
We are delighted to be able to show you exactly what happens to your hair when it arrives at our HQ.
The Little Princess Trust is a charity based in Hereford, supplying real hair wigs free of charge to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other illnesses.
Started in 2006 in memory of 5-year-old Hannah Tarplee who sadly lost her own battle with cancer the previous year.
The charity helps those with cancer - up to the age of 24 - with as many wigs as necessary for the duration of their treatment and hair loss. For those aged up to 24 with a non-life-threatening condition which causes hair loss, the charity provides a single wig to help with the associated trauma.
Since its inception, the Trust has given away over 6,000 wigs; a number which increases every day. It has also awarded research grants of over £1,700,000. The projects focus on finding causes of and cures for children’s cancer and also look into developing less toxic treatments for paediatric cancers.
