Mapu Huni Kuin UMIYAC's Taita Greminton and Jojoa Yocuro addressed the assembly "An Urgent Call to Protect the Amazon: An Interfaith Rainforest Initiative Dialogue with Indigenous Leaders" at the 2023 Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago, USA via video message. Mapu, a prominent spiritual leader, chief and musician of the Huni Kuin people, was born in the Kaxinawá Ashaninka Indigenous Land of Rio Breu.
