The objective in this Annex A control is to ensure users are authorised to access systems and services as well as prevent unauthorised access.
The objective of this Annex A control is to make users accountable for safeguarding their authentication information.
Its framework requires organisations to identify information security risks and select appropriate controls to tackle them. Those practices are outlined in Annex A of ISO 27001, which contains 114 controls divided into 14 domains.
ISO 27001 Annex A is arguably the most well-known annex of all the ISO standards, as it contains an essential instrument for managing information security risks: a list of security controls (or safeguards) that should be used to strengthen the security of information assets.
