Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Nagappattinam at 1.15pm on Saturdays only

Other off season options with change-over:
CST-Chennai Central at 12.55pm daily or LTT-Chennai Central at 6.40pm daily
Get down at Chennai Central and reach Chennai Egmore via cab/rick
Chennai Egmore to Nagappattinam at 9.00pm daily

Same options, but also check IRCTC for direct special trains till Nagappattinam or Velankanni

Nagapattinam to Velankanni travel charges (can bargain)
Rickshaw: Rs 500 (4-5 persons)
Cabs: Rs 800 (4-5 persons)
Van: Rs 1000 (8-10 persons)
Private Bus: Rs 70 (per person)

We stayed at Hotel Golden Sand - Rs 3000/- Triple Bed with AC and 24 hrs hot water incl breakfast
Book a hotel where you get hot water/heater facility coz you get tired walking around the shrine and a hot water shower can relax you
Shrine provided rooms are at Rs 500 starting with basic amenities
Book anywhere in Velankanni, the shrine is at a walking distance


Return journey:
Option1: Return on Monday from Nagapattinam to LTT direct train at 2.53pm
Option 2: Return on any day from Nagapattinam to Chennai Egmore at 9.53pm and then Chennai Egmore to Mumbai at 6.30 am
