In Kenya, 80 percent of the poor are rural farmers. KickStart International is a non-profit social enterprise that makes low-cost water pumps that allow farmers to grow high-margin crops year-round. This means the difference between producing just enough for their families to survive, versus having money left over for education, housing and saving for a better future. Citi is providing working capital, foreign exchange and transaction services to scale their operations across Africa and beyond.
