I've owned a Warco 300/2 lathe for over 20 years but recently my time using it has increased. So my mind has turned to doing a few upgrades on it to make it a little more usable. This series of videos shows how I fitted both scales/read heads to the lathe and the mounting of the display unit.
I only went for the 5 micron scales as I think in my case that would be fine for the work I do on the lathe, that and the fact the 1 micron scales are harder to get in the UK without being shipped from abroad and are twice the price.
The DRO display unit cost me £87 and the scales were around £50 each.
Keep a look out for the other parts of this series and for the video where I shortened the scales length on the X axis.
