Let me take you along to Skiathos, also known as the European Saint Martin. The runway is located directly at the beach, enabling spotters and aviation enthusiasts to watch the arriving and departing aircraft up close. It's a challenging approach because of the short runway and it's dangerous for spotters because of the low landings and jetblast.
The video shows what it's like to fly a visual approach into a Greek island. Interesting facts, approach charts, actual call-outs, checklists and procedures were added to provide a sense of everything that is going on inside the cockpit during the approach and landing.
