Teknic's new ClearPath® integrated brushless servo motor line combines a brushless servo motor, a high-resolution encoder, an AC vector servo drive and a controller all into one compact package. ClearPath servos can be economically used in place of steppers, AC induction, DC brush, and non-integrated servo motors up to 1.3 hp peak, while providing significant performance advantages.
With the ClearPath MCPV mode, you can use a timer/counter on your PLC (or a simple circuit) to send a burst of pulses to ClearPath, and it will move a distance proportional to the number of pulses sent, at your preselected speed and acceleration. This mode gives you most of the flexibility of a "step & direction" motion controller but without the cost and added complexity.
