How to help avoid pump cord damage, kinking & tension.
I will first say this: Everything and Every human at some point in the life span has issues.
Nothing and No-one is Perfect. Everything Mechanical as well as Human dies in time.
Due to the question Pioneer Pets asked me if I had perhaps had the cord tight, which could have caused the sheath on the pumps cord to split and become exposed.
I have NOT found any video's nor instructions as to how to route the pumps cord while assembling there Swan Fountain.
Thus why the making of this video.
I do not believe that was the case with the pump. The damaged cord shows it's natural curves as the way I had routed it every time. But one never knows. As Nobody wants to believe it's there fault when someone or something dies...
So, If not routing the pumps cord properly it can lead to cord damage and pets to not drink and become dehydrated and or worse. perhaps electrocution, kidney failure. etc.
This has happened to my pets causing me a vet bill finding dehydration.
The great service and communications/dialog I had with Pioneer pet as I sent video's/photo's they replaced my pump without hesitation. They even told me there sending several kitty toys. I feel Pioneer Pet went above and beyond.
I have now found that since installing my replacement pump, that 3 of my cats are now Leary and refuse to drink out of there Swan Fountain. I think it's due to there prior traumatic experience with there original pump going bad.
Which leads me to think, It's possible due to the cord's sheath becoming exposed as I found it. It may have shocked them. There's no proof of that. Only my assumption due to there refusal to drink from it now.
Also I'm now having to keep a bowl of water next to there fountain. I buy my fresh filtered water. It gets even more costly having to toss it out daily due to it's non flowing feature.
I'm hopeful in time the scaredy-cats will see the others drinking from and playing in there beloved Swan Fountain and once again begin to trust there fountain and start drinking from it again.
Only time will tell.
If the Scaredy-cats Do Not start drinking from there Swan fountain again. I'm thinking I'll have to find and run a 2nd fountain that does not look like the Swan fountain. The reason I would have to run 2 fountains is... I have 2 HUGH Maine coon cats 30 & 27lbs that Love to play and drink from there Swan fountain as it's just like running out of the sink faucet. Having fresh clean filtered water flowing is essential to the health of my cats...
Getting rid of there Swan Fountain... IS NOT AN OPTION. Plus They know where i sleep.
And especially with Water issues and droughts in society today and the wasting of water, having a fresh flowing water supply for my pets is even more of a must have.
