From setbacks to new beginnings. The southern Sweden americana outfit Karavan reveals its bluesy roots as much in the band’s history as in their music. Influenced by the likes of Jason Isbell, Ryan Adams and The Wood Brothers the new 11-track album rises from significant events in the recent past. The departure of a key member, the initial growing uncertainty and a determination to carry on the legacy.
The result claims Karavan as anything but calculated in the genre. On the contrary, the rekindling on Odds and Ends is palpable without seeming strained in any way. This the group’s most transparent and honest work to date is filled with self-experienced, melancholic lyrics marinated in an uplifting instrumental shimmer. The found-again personal chemistry and joy of playing is as clear as day both live and in the studio. It’s hard to not get carried away by the sense of purpose and drive that characterizes Karavan’s new costume.
With full focus on a picture-painting narrative lyrically, we find tales about everything from memories of a romanticized youth and passing of loved ones to ceased relationships and growing families. In summary, it is simply life through both windshields and rear-view mirrors, everything that binds us humans together. Karavan has their own sound and tell their own stories in a very relatable way.
Most recently, the band opened for Mando Diao in Sweden and as a backing band in England for the American artist Cam during the Black Deer Festival and British Summer Time in Hyde Park.

LYRICS
What’s your next move when there’s nothing you can you can do
It’s sad but it’s true, what makes me happy makes you blue
I can see trouble in your eyes
We can’t get passed the stuff we left behind
I’ve buried the hatchet but I still carry a knife
It’s peacetime but I’d go to war just to see you smile
We’re dug in deep, sticking to our fences
I don’t know the game but I do know this
It ain’t just one thing
It ain’t just one thing, it’s many
Don’t worry about problems
Don’t worry about problems, there’s plenty
I’m gonna stick my head out, see if the smoke has cleared
Sometimes there’s no reward for coming clean
I heard a noise so loud it didn’t make a sound
My hopes were up as I hit the ground
It ain’t just one thing
It ain’t just one thing, it’s many
Don’t worry about problems
Don’t worry about problems, there’s plenty
It ain’t just one thing
It ain’t just one thing, it’s many
Don’t worry about problems
Don’t worry about problems, there’s plenty
