What is the Cloud & AWS: [ Ссылка ]
Hey guys,
In this video I’ll be going over - very briefly - the various AWS certifications available, and which you should focus on first if you’re a complete beginner.
And in the following series of videos i’ll be covering the basics of different AWS services and parts of the cloud that are required to pass said beginner certification.
If you watched my last video, you already know what AWS is…so what does it mean to be AWS certified, and is said certification worth it?
Being AWS certified means that you have passed a test to show that you know how to use Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ‘test’ is created by amazon themselves, and since AWS is so immense, there are different tests to showcase different sets of skills. It costs $100 as of now to take the beginner level exams, and upto $300 to take the more advanced exams.
AWS Cloud Certifications are some of the very few online certifications that actually have some value on a CV or résumé - and the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner is the first and easiest exam - that everyone begins from.
After that, there's separate, more specific, certifications based on the role you’re preparing for (developer, architect or operations). You can pause the video here if you’re interested to see the different paths.
In this series we’ll be focusing on the Cloud Practitioner Certification, as the starting point for all the paths, and I’m going to assume you know next to nothing about AWS.
Now, I said earlier I’ll be covering the topics briefly, and thats because im going to mention just enough to get you doing practice exams. Trying to memorise or take 12 tonnes of notes is ultimately a waste of time. The most efficient way to learn isn’t not watching endless talking head videos, but using active-recall to make your brain think. Another way of saying this, you learn better by trying to pull information out of your brain, than putting it in.
Before we get to that though, you *will* need to have at least some understanding of AWS services so you at least understand what the questions are asking. Then, when you inevitably get most of them wrong to begin with - you’ll be able to understand why you were wrong and what the correct answers are. I won’t cover every minute detail that might turn up in the exam, because the gaps in knowledge will be filled by doing practice questions.
Also, to save you the temptation of writing your own notes, each video will have summarised notes in its description.
Timing wise, I think with 2 hours of dedicated practice time a day, this certification can be done in a month. Following certifications are harder, but this first one is mostly theory, its large memorising what various AWS services do and how they interconnect to solve business problems.
In the next video we’re going to kick things off with a detailed look at the benefits of using AWS - this will all be stuff that might come up in the exam.
