For over 800 years, Cambridge has challenged entrenched ideas, fostered innovation and used its insights to serve society. Little wonder, then, that 90 members of the University have won Nobel Prizes, a greater number than in any other institution in the world.
Since Wolfson College’s foundation half a century ago, its alumni have changed the world, tackling complex problems and putting the results into practice as leaders, judges, doctors, academics, civil servants, cultural innovators and entrepreneurs across the globe.
Wolfson offers a home and an inspiration to over 1,000 graduate and mature undergraduate students, whose exceptional experience enriches their studies and informs their research. Many come with partners and children. The College caters for all of them and offers a rich variety of cultural, sporting and intellectual activities as well as accommodation, help and tutorial support in all aspects of daily life.
Our students’ focus is universal and their outlook is global. They are currently enrolled on 90 different degree programmes and come from 80 different countries. They are here thanks to their huge personal commitment and effort, which we recognise with the support provided by the College, its wider community and its fellow students.
This series of short interviews with just a handful of our students who receive bursaries and scholarships demonstrates just how much can be achieved with financial support.
Now, for our 50th Anniversary, you can help us to build on our proud legacy and help our students continue changing the world for the better.
