Today I had fun sound testing and reviewing the best budget microphone in 2021, the BOYA BY-M1. A plug and play mic for $20.
This excellent sounding lavalier microphone was a pleasant surprise, punching well above it's budget price. It has a 3.5mm headphone connection to phones, DSLR cameras, PC and it's a mic you can use anywhere. The question to be answered...
Is the boya by-m1 still good in 2021?
This review and tutorial with sound test of the boya by-m1 shows how to use the microphone with your phone and what to do with its simple and easy single switch when using a DSLR, PC or laptop.
I run the test through my Samsung Galaxy note 9 and the plug and play feature for my phone was impressively easy to use and ready to go as soon as I plugged the 3.5mm headphone jack in. This microphone also has a 6m cord allowing you to be at a distance from your phone/PC/DSLR and still have best audio. This was a feature I really enjoyed, but cable management is needed to avoid tripping over the mic cable.
So if you want to make YouTube videos, Record Voice Overs or need a microphone for teaching online and zoom meetings. Then I am sure you will be more than satisfied with this cheap lavalier mic.
I may even record my audio book using it.
