Development and Production
Initially, Indra Kumar was set to direct Hera Pheri 3, with Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal reprising their roles from the previous films.
In May 2018, Kumar confirmed the project, stating that the film would be high on VFX and that the script was being finalized.
However, in November 2022, it was reported that Kumar would not be directing the film, citing creative differences.
Farhad Samji eventually took over as the director, and the film began production in February 2023.
Plot
The third installment in the Hera Pheri franchise continues the story of Raju, Shyam, and Baburao, who are now rich and living a luxurious life.
The trio gets entangled in a new adventure involving a hidden treasure, mistaken identities, and criminology.
Raju overhears a neighbor plotting to steal drugs and mistakenly assumes they are talking about stealing money. He hatches a plan to steal from the neighbor, but things go awry when they discover the drugs are worth ₹3 crore.
The neighbor steals the drugs again, and the trio meets Anuradha, who reveals that the entire scam was orchestrated by Kabeera, a gangster from the first film, to get revenge on the trio.
Release
Hera Pheri 3 is expected to release soon, although an official date has not been announced.
Akshay Kumar has hinted that the film will begin production by next year, following the completion of the producer’s current projects.
