Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth Plus Item Spotlight - Episode 6 - Pause
In the Item Spotlight series, we'll take the time in each episode to highlight an item in The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. In this video we'll be looking at how to use Pause and Pause item tips and tricks. We'll talk about the best way to use Pause in Afterbirth Plus - namely, in coordination with passive damage and using the pause item against bosses. We'll look at using Pause with golden bombs, and what happens when you use Pause with invincibility. We'll talk about Pause synergies and helpful items and trinkets to have with Pause.
First I'll discuss the facts and stats of the item. Then I'll give my take on the item both as an opinion and from a tactical standpoint -- whether or not to pick it up, what synergies are good and what are bad, if I would reroll the item if I had the chance, etc. If you have anything to add, please leave a comment in the comments section below! Rebirth is a HUGE expansion to the procedurally-generated roguelike The Binding of Isaac. Continuing in the footsteps of the original's expansion, Wrath of the Lamb, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth brings the total item count to over 350 items. This makes for a mind-blowingly large number of item synergies, both good and bad.

"The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is the remake of the original Binding of Isaac game. It was designed by Edmund McMillen and produced and developed by Nicalis for Steam, PS4 and Playstation Vita, with possibilities of future Nintendo and Xbox console ports.
Much like the original, the game is a randomly developed action RPG with rogue-like elements, however with Rebirth the art (as well as the entire game) has been revamped and remake with a pixel art 16-bit style in mind. Made in a completely new shiny C++ based engine, Rebirth overcomes a lot of the downfalls from the original game, which suffered as it took the Flash engine to its limits. Rebirth brings back everything that the original game had and much much more, including 350+ new items, 10 playable characters, 100+ new enemies, over 50 bosses and tons of new secrets to find."

"Items are an integral part of gameplay in The Binding of Isaac. They modify a character's stats, grant or modify abilities, and many other things.
Items in general are classified into a number of distinct types and groups. Some items are passive, which add an effect permanently to Isaac, while others only activate when used. The original Binding of Isaac had 196 collectable items (passive and activated); this number has increased significantly in Rebirth, and the Collection pages have space for a total of 343 items. Only 14 are considered a Special Item.
Similar to Items are Cards, Trinkets, Pills, and Runes.
Items dropped in the Binding of Isaac NEVER disappear over time; a coin dropped will remain where it was dropped until you pick it up or leave the floor. A dropped item can be left in its place to be collected at a later time.
