My XPS m1530 died recently due to one of the infamous faulty Nvidia chipsets. Turns out that the chip basically overheats and cracks the solder underneath. Thanks to this video ([ Ссылка ]), I was able to fix it and thought I'd put up my own video of the fix as aptly described by one of my supervisors as a "Ghetto Reflow"!
The basic idea is to reflow the solder which has cracked under the card by heating it up and allowing it to reset. The cracks are likely to appear again eventually, but it will hopefully prolong the lifespan of the laptop by a few months!
