Filmed on 20/03/2024. Its is time for the first of many rail tours for this year which hoping to see throughout. Kicking things of with the return of one of the mainline steam tours which hasn't ran since 2018 when it rain top and tail steam. Now, 6 years later The Whitby Flyer has returned. Worked by The Railway Touring Company and to comply with the new railway regulations regarding to the coaching stock. 86259 worked the tour as far as York then LMS Stainer Black Five no. 44871 top and tailing with BR class 47 no. 47815.

The tour is seen arriving into Glaisdale working 1Z50 London Kings Cross to Whitby along the Esk Valley Line. The train has to await here at Glaisdale to collect the token to continue its journey to Whitby. The Whitby Flyer had to await for 2W35 for a few minutes before proceeding. Next, we chased the train to Grosmont where we just seen the train passing through. At Whitby and rather than risking getting wet, we went out for a few minutes to get a few shots of the train.

Finally, we went to Sleights station to see 1Z51 passing its way through back to York then 86259 would take over the train through to London Kings Cross.
