►Politicians in Holyrood have today backed plans to make it easier for transgender people to change their legally recognised gender. It's the first of three votes on the bill. The Scottish Government wants to simplify - and speed up - the process to get what's called a Gender Recognition Certificate.
But those who're opposed say it will impact the rights of women, a claim strongly rejected by those supporting the change
