David Enrich takes on Deutschebank in his book "Dark Towers" at Politics and Prose.

Finance editor at The New York Times, Enrich follows his acclaimed The Spider Network with the never-before-told story of Deutsche Bank. Drawing on extensive interviews with more than 100 past and present Bank officials, Enrich traces a long history of dubious practices, from the Bank’s recent string of market manipulations, investor scams, sanctions violations, money laundering for Russian oligarchs—and, over the last 20 years, loans of billions of dollars to Trump, the Kushners, and others, including Jeffrey Epstein. Putting a human face on the story of corporate greed, Enrich leavens the exposé with reports from the investigations of the 2014 death of senior Deutsch Bank executive Bill Broeksmit.

David Enrich is the Finance Editor at the New York Times. He previously was the Financial Enterprise Editor of the Wall Street Journal, heading a team of investigative reporters. Before that, he was the Journal’s European Banking Editor, based in London, and a Journal reporter in New York. He has won numerous journalism awards, including the 2016 Gerald Loeb Award for feature writing. His first book, The Spider Network: How a Math Genius and Gang of Scheming Bankers Pulled Off On of The Greatest Scams in History was short-listed for the Financial Times Best Book of the Year award. Enrich grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts, and graduated from Claremont McKenna College in California. He currently lives in New York with his wife and two sons.
