Rotary Stability training can seem really confusing:
Do I need a balance board? A Stability ball? How do I build Anti-Rotation strength?
Like many things, the best answer to the question at hand is most often the simple solution: First build strength and balance on a flat, stabile surface before going to unstable surface training.
In todays video Coach Menachem Brodie teaches you how to perform the Suitcase Deadlift, along with an important modification to help make this a safe, easily accessible move for athletes of nearly all abilities.
However, if you struggle with maintaining spinal alignment through this move, you should digress to back to McGill Crunches, Side Planks, and Bird-Dogs until you find your core more stable and able to work against rotational forces, before moving on to the suitcase deadlift.
