Crib Goch is often considered to be knife edged in Snowdonia, North Wales. In the Welsh language it means red ridge. In summer it is a scramble but in winter it is a mountaineering route. Care needs to be taken at all times.
We parked at the park and ride car park at Nant Peris and took the bus up to Pen-y-pass. There is a pay & display car park at pen-y-pass but it gets full really quickly so use the park and ride if you need to and use the regular bus service as we did.
From pen-y-pass car park take the Pyg track to Bwlch-y-Moch, here the path forks (there is a small sign) and we turned right to follow the path on the southern side of Crib Goch 895m [2,940ft]. Our film starts once we have climbed up to the shoulder just before Crib Goch ridge itself. We end the film at Bwlch Coch, a grass col on the approach to Crib y Ddysgl.
Once over we desend via the Pyg track and turn right at a fork onto the Miners track leading back to Pen-y-Pass. However if you have never been to the top of Snowdon or Yr Wyddfa you’ll be so close you’ll want to reach that summit before heading down.
All filmed on the action camera GoPro Hero 10.
