Indian Troops Begin Patrolling in Demchok After Disengagement with China | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Indian troops began patrolling in Ladakh’s Demchok sector on Friday (November 1), days after disengagement with the Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh. As per the army sources, patrolling in another friction point of Depsang sector is also expected to begin soon. On Wednesday, troops from both the countries finished disengagement at the two friction points in eastern Ladakh. This marked a major breakthrough in the India-China border standoff which began in 2020. On the occasion of Diwali on Thursday (October 31), the Indian and Chinese troops also exchanged sweets at several border points along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
