SEEDING FINALE... Part 2, Montana 2021

In my last 2021 spring seeding video, I will take you with Darcy in our John Deere tractor seeding. We are just finishing up seeding spring wheat on our Montana farm. Darcy and I talk about how deep to plant the seeds, what temperature the ground should be and how the wind affects seeding. We talk about the different types of drill, like the tow behind and tow between. Our John Deere drill today is the tow behind, which we think makes seeding easier than our Flexcoil tow between. We also talk about how we clean out the seed tanks for different crops, just like we clean the combines when we go to a different crop at harvest. You will be able to see the vast Montana fields in this video. It seems like they go on forever!!! There are also a few glimpses of some coulees we farm around. My Dad has some terrific drone shots too. Remember this is the real thing and not a farming simulator. My video will give you a good idea of how farming is done Montana style! At the end of the video, I tell you my crazy harvest story of how a wheel literally fell off my combine and I just gave it more gas and kept on going until the cart guy noticed a wheel in the field! LOL Yes, my combine harvester wheel fell off and I show you the field where it happened!!! I also say hello to the neighbors' dogs who came to greet me after I got out of the tractor. My Story…
Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am a 16-year-old 4th generation farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate’s Ag became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.
