The world of Bicycle photography is a competitive one. Professional Photographers carrying thousands of dollars of camera equipment jockey at every race for a seat on the motorcycle, near the podium, as close to the action as they can possibly get, in hopes of capturing a unique moment that embodies the essence of the community and competitive spirit of the bicycling world. Inspired by the grand tradition of Jered Gruber and Graham Watson, Angelica Dixon has spent the last few years learning the tricks of cycling photography. The work has taken her from her humble beginnings with prosumer DSLRs shooting crits in Maine and New England to the Tour of the Gila, The Tour of California, and The Pro challenge, where she had the unique opportunity to capture images of the legendary Jens Voigt in his last season as a professional bike racer.
