This entry did not qualify for the ESC final.
Laura and her band "The Lovers" won the national final with the song "Little By Little" - a song that was actually intended for another group. Bobby Ljungren and Billy Butt, who work internationally under the pseudonyms R. Young and B. Nielsen, originally wrote the song for the Lithuanian band project Amberlife. After a scandal at the national preliminary round last year, their record company decided against taking part again. So the song needed a new performer. Laura Cepukaite was found and the Swedish producers quickly put in the backing band "The Lovers".
Laura is a trained singer. For years she sang in the a cappella formation Jazzland, mainly jazz music and classical sounds. In 2001 the rock band The Scorpions invited the Lithuanian to sing in the background choir at their concert in Vilnius. In autumn 2004 Laura received a contract with the most successful record label in Lithuania, Koja Records. There, a contact was made with the successful Swedish producer Billy Butt. "This is a new step in my life," said Laura. "I'm now going to try my hand at pop music. The song is perfectly tailored for me."
In November 2004, the song "Little By Little" was recorded in Stockholm, and the makers were confident about their performance. They predicted to esctoday.com: "If Laura wins the Lithuanian preliminary round, the whole of Europe will be at her feet." The national final took place over eight weeks and involved 49 competing entries. The results of each show were determined entirely by a public vote. In the final, twenty entries remained and "Little by Little" performed by Laura and the Lovers was selected as the winner with 5,465 votes. Swedish singer Sonja Aldén can be heard in the background of the song, which was released as a single. Her elimination in the semi-final on May 19 was a bit of a surprise: with 25th place, the European audience handed Laura and her band the red lantern.
A year later, the album Tarp Krintančių Lapų was released. Čepukaitė is married to Liutauro Čepracko, a well-known TV chef in Lithuania and owner of the upscale restaurant Gastronomika. The couple lives in Vilnius. If you wanna try their cuisine you can get all the infos here:

LYRICS:
Little by little
Night shadows falling
I hear you calling
We're finally talking
Your words touch my soul
It's taken a long time
To get inside your mind
I know it's not easy
But baby, we're two of a kind
Ooh... little by little
I'm getting close to your heart
When we're together
Looks like we're making a start
Little by little
I see that look in your eyes
Each time you touch me
I want to reach out for you
No more confusion
It ain't no illusion
This is a fusion
Of body and mind
We're meant for each other
So baby, come on, hold me tight
We'll make it together
As we fly into the night
Ooh... little by little
I'm getting close to your heart
When we're together
Looks like we're making a start
Little by little
I see that look in your eyes
Each time you touch me
I want to reach out for you
Mmm... little by little
Little by little
I'm getting close to your heart
When we're together
Looks like we're making a start
Little by little
I see that look in your eyes
Each time you touch me
I want to reach out for you
