In the Asia-Pacific region, FAO is working with its Member Nations to help them advance to the 2030 Agenda by achieving the Four Betters: better production, better nutrition, better environment and a better life – leaving no one behind. In Sri Lanka, FAO is building capacities of local irrigation experts to monitor water productivity, identify water productivity gaps and propose solutions to reduce these gaps with real-time data from the FAO WaPOR platform. Thereby contributing to a sustainable increase of agricultural production that benefits farmers and safeguards the environment.
