- My name is Paula Heaney and I am the founder of Skinny Malinkys cold-pressed juice. So I'm here in Barbados working from the beach, obviously not working right now, but yeah, I work remotely every morning and then afternoon, I hit the beach, get some exercise, swim in the sea, it's amazing. So my usual day here in Barbados is a little bit different, slightly different to when I was back in the UK but I get up most mornings about six, now I've started to push it to 6:30. If I need to, I'll be in a nine o'clock meeting in the UK which means I have to be online at 5:00 a.m., but I mean it's worth it to be able to finish and come here after. So my latest time I worked is probably 3:00 p.m. every day, then I hit the beach. So I'm the founder of Skinny Malinkys. It's a cold-pressed fruit and veggie juice company with its genuinely healthy juice. So for me, I run the day-to-day, the website, everything kind of online and behind the scenes but it's actually made in Dublin and then it gets shipped to Northern Ireland. To find out more about Skinny Malinkys, our juice cleanses, and why we're genuinely healthy above all other juice, you can go to skinnymalinkys.com, You could check out on Instagram, Facebook @skinnymalinkys, or you can follow me @paula_skinny_malinkys. So I applied for the 12-months visa, which I have, but to be honest, I don't know if I wanna ever go back right now but I'll definitely stay the full 12. I'll return a couple of times. I've got some weddings at home in the summer, but yeah, I'm Bajan by choice now. Part of the reason Barbados offered the Welcome Stamp and part of the reason I came here is because they have some of the best internet in the world. Most of the Island is fibre wired. I always have 4G. And here, yeah, the internet's brilliant everywhere you go. On the Island, I feel super safe. Really, the people are so lovely, genuinely friendly. There's an affinity with the Irish as well for sure. People love to talk. We're similar for sure. Yeah, I mean, I feel safe, but like everywhere, you still need to be slightly cautious, but for me, yeah, I feel safe where I live. I love the people who live around me. My neighbours, I have a real mixed group of friends now between ex-pats, Welcome Stampers and Bajans, so yeah, I love it. To anyone even considering coming out here for a few months, let alone a year, the only thing I can say is do it. It is the most amazing thing I've done. I love every day. And I just think, why be stuck at home with the restrictions in place when you could be here, going to the beach everyday after work, surfing whenever you want.
