At Bhadrachalam, the Godavari water level is gradually increasing. Yesterday, the water level was at 20 feet, and by this morning, it has reached 25 feet. Due to the rains in the state and the upper regions, there is a flood surge. Officials from the Central Water Resources Department have stated that there is a possibility of further increase in the flow at Bhadrachalam.
Taliperu reservoir in Charla Mandal is receiving heavy inflows. 24 gates of the project have been lifted, releasing 59,330 cusecs of water downstream. Sitha Vagu in Dummugudem Mandal is flowing ferociously and merging into the Godavari. The water level in Bhadrachalam has reached the bathing ghats of the Godavari.
